Name: Eily (short for Eilahra).
Age:19ish.
Race: Mortal
Marital Status: Single, dating here and there
Family: Her father died years ago. Her mother, older sister and younger sister are living with a tribe of Amazons some distance away. She has a little brother, Demetrius, who's living with distant relations in Corinth.
Description: About 5'5" tall, average weight. Long wavy brown hair, brown eyes. She usually wears a nice peasant blouse with long sleeves, and pants. When attempting to look presentable, she has skirts, but prefers pants because she's less likely to trip in them. She has a few Amazon necklaces and wears whichever one she feels like. She always wears a simple ring set with a garnet that's been in her family a long time.
Skills: Eily is wonderful with a staff and very good with twin daggers. At least competent with a sword. She understands how to use a bow and arrow, but her aim isn't the best, and doesn't seem to be improving.
Background: Eily lived with her parents in Athens until her father died. They had been prosperous, but Eily's mother wasn't able to keep control of their property. Her father's cousin, who inherited it all, offered to take in Eily's little brother out of kindness - not much kindness, considering that he essentially took their home and threw the rest of them into the street. Eily was fifteen.
Eily, her mother and sisters had no money and no place to live. They searched desperately for kind relatives or some means of supporting themselves. Soon afterwards, they were taking the road through a forest towards yet another city in the hopes of finding work or friends. Eily and her little sister had developed a nasty cough. They were approached by a tribe of amazons, who gave the girls medicine and offered to adopt them all into the tribe.
Eily was initially reluctant to become an Amazon, but at least their society respected the rights of women, and after a month or two she settled right in. She and her sisters learned to fight, live in the forest, and were happy. She loved life as an amazon, but the truth was she missed having men in her life - men like her father and brother, not the jerk who had thrown her family into the street. Word came that her brother was now living with a distant uncle in Corinth. In a letter he told Eily that he was trying to convince his uncle to let him join a new academy for warriors being formed. Eily was intrigued, and wrote back "I hope to see you there!"
Personality: Eily is a middle child, and she fits that birth order well. She tries to keep the peace and loves hanging out with her friends. She's a responsible student most of the time. However Eily is also an amazon. She sticks up for her opinions, snaps at people (particularly men) when pushed too far, and isn't shy around new people or in strange situations.
Hobbies/Interests: Eily likes to paint. It helps her to calm down. She also likes music and is learning to play something like an early Greek guitar.
Other: She adores her family and wants to see her little brother again. She definitely wants him to come to the academy.
